Community Engagement

Thank you to our Sammamish Valley Grange members, families, friends, and the community who participate in our Activities and Events.

The Tenth Annual Sammamish Valley Seed Swap runs through March, 2026, at host location, 21 Acres, 13701 NE 171st St., Woodinville. Participating in a seed swap is a great way to connect with other gardeners, share unique plant varieties that thrive in our region, reduce seed waste, learn about new plants and promote biodiversity in our community. Saving seeds is essential to building an equitable and resilient food system by empowering people to grow their own food while fostering a sense of community around gardening and sustainable practices. Stay tuned for additional details, and plan ahead to share your extra seeds, and pop in to find what you may be missing!

Here’s how it works:

BRING SEEDS TO SHARE

  • Bring your saved seeds, either in their original commercial packaging or your own well-marked, small envelope or container.
  • Include the plant name, year collected, and planting and growing information.
  • Seeds should be cleaned of hulls and debris.
  • Seeds should be non-GMO, non-hybrid, and not older than 3 years.
  • Sort your donated seeds into the labeled boxes provided.
  • Don’t have seeds? No problem!

TAKE SEEDS TO PLANT

  • Take seeds that you need for your own garden.
  • Bring recycled envelopes, small jars or other little containers or bags, along with a marker and tape to label your seeds with name, variety and planting information.
  • Have fun with family, friends and neighbors as you sow and tend to your spring garden.
  • Come back often to see what community members have brought to the swap.

SHARE PHOTOS AND TAG

  • We’d love to see photos and hear about how your plants are growing.
  • If you post on social media, please tag with #sammamishvalleyseedswap – you’ll be entered in a drawing to win a fun, seedy prize!
